Something? Or nothing?
The Apple Store doesn't just go down...
UPDATE: It was just a beauty sleep...it's all pretty now.

I'd certainly buy his shirt. If he had one.

This letter is just brilliant.
It's a seemingly honest explanation of the reasons behind the price drop, a gentle "f*ck you" to the whiners, and a crazy brilliant solution/compromise that will sate most while raising Apple to some sort of customer service Valhalla.
And certainly, many those $100 credits will go to items that cost muccch more.
Bravo!
The one thing that really strikes me about the whole NBC / Apple mess is this: You have to assume that a fair number of the fine consumers who were buying NBC content from iTunes were iPod users. These folks miss a show, buy it to watch on the train...whatever. But if NBC takes off and heads down the Windows Media path, aren't they going to lose that fair group of consumers? iPod people (and there are a few, I hear) are not super hip to the whole WMV scene.
I'm no Jed Bartlett, but it seems, I dunno...suicidal.
So here's the deal, if any of you people out there in TV-corporation-world start seeing NBC giving their stuff away to their friends, someone call 911, cause that is like the first sign. Next thing you know, NBC is parked in the garage, holed up in the back of an Escalade, watching old episodes of Friends on the DVD player, waiting for that sweet carbon monoxide release.
My expectations weren't quite as high, but my disappointment was as sharp. 10GB is nice, but this class of service deserves more attention. My only hope remaining for this in the current year is another upgrade with Leopard.

I will, however, do my best to fill up those 10GB with pictures, though. I am a big fan of the new iLife galleries.
Golly, it's like Steve Jobs is speaking directly to me. This new iMac ad is proof. I am fairly certain I have never seen a product shot for anything with the mouse on the left.
All hail the left-handed iMac!
This Steve Jobs fellow knows what he's doing.
Engadget:
10:45AM: [Someone's phone rings, Jobs tells them that "You might want to answer that."]
Gizmodo:
7:44: Whoa, someone left their ringer on, and steve just said, "You're not going to answer that." Mistake to anger The Steve.
New iMacs with glossy screens (and oh, they're skinny), new .Mac features, but nothing that "makes up for lost time"....hold the phone! .Mac with new features AND 10GB of storage. That might make up for a couple months of lost time.
Where's my f**king Sys Rq??? Where the hell is my Scroll Lock????
Don't go there, Apple. DON'T GO THERE.

UPDATE: I think it's real. I don't think it will look like this necessarily, but it smells like Apple. I wish they'd go ahead and innovate past that retro grouping of keys above the arrows. The Fn seems like a stretch to fill space, but perhaps Leopard will allow some interesting Fn-tionality.
